EDULAB

Objectives

EDU-LAB aims to strengthen understanding of young people’s pathways and transitions within the European Education Area (EEA) by developing comprehensive models that account for intersectional and largely generic determinants. The project assesses the efficiency of policies and investments in general education (GE) and vocational education and training (PVET), providing novel quantitative and qualitative evidence on how these factors contribute to inclusion, equity, and successful participation and completion of GE and PVET. Using a mixed-methods approach, EDU-LAB combines secondary data analyses, newly collected qualitative data, literature reviews, conceptual analyses, trend and regression analyses, difference-in-differences analysis, expert interviews, surveys, and case studies that amplify young people’s voices through Research-Practice Partnerships. The project focuses on European Education Area targets such as increasing youth tertiary attainment, reducing early school leaving, expanding work-based learning in vocational education, and enhancing participation of underrepresented groups, including those defined by gender, ethnicity, or migration background.
