The University of Oviedo, established in 1608, is the only public university in the Principality of Asturias, Spain, serving a regional population of approximately one million. The university has multiple campuses offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It emphasizes international collaboration through agreements with institutions worldwide and promotes a vibrant academic and student life with extensive sports, cultural, and social activities. The team at University of Oviedo is composed by researchers of REGIOlab, the Regional Economics Laboratory of the University of Oviedo. This team specializes in conducting quantitative economic modelling at regional scale.

The team at the university of Oviedo will take the lead of JCD and skills analysis to manage effectively the JCD process. This involves conducting comprehensive analyses of job creation and destruction (JCD) processes, emphasizing skills needs and mismatches across regions. Moreover, the team will contribute to the integration of secondary data into a broader European database that will support the ISABEL project’s goal of mapping regional disparities in JCD processes. This work will be crucial in identifying skills gaps and forecasting future labour market needs.
